About your team
Business Services plays a critical role in driving Fidelity’s growth by supporting the execution of distribution strategy at local, regional, and global levels. Aligned closely with Distribution, the team focuses on delivering initiatives that enhance business performance and operational effectiveness. Although based in Asia, the team has a broad remit, leading and contributing to regional and global initiatives that have a direct and meaningful impact on the region.
Working in close partnership with Sales, Marketing, and other business supporting teams, the team provides independent assessments on strategic business concepts, ensuring alignment and feasibility, and overseeing the prioritisation and delivery of change initiatives within agreed objectives, budgets, and resources. The team advises on governance, manages complex workstreams, business strategy execution, and represents Sales and Marketing in cross-functional strategic programmes. Typical initiatives include business growth and proposition enhancements across wholesale, and institutional channels, as well as scale, efficiency, regulatory, and compliance-driven enhancements.
About your role
Reporting to the Head of Business Services, APACxJapan, this position will execute on initiatives in support of business priorities primarily for APACxJapan but some initiatives could be regional or global in nature.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with Sales, Marketing and other business supporting teams as well as the wider organisation, be expected to analyse challenges, propose improvement plans, and implement appropriate solutions which enables distribution businesses to be more effective on business plan execution.
Given the wide range of stakeholders you’ll need strong communication skills to ensure success.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end‑to‑end delivery of strategic initiatives, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within scope, and within budget.
Partner with stakeholders across Investments, Distribution, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Compliance to define objectives and deliver agreed outcomes.
Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, process improvements, and operating model changes.
Analyse current‑state processes and business challenges, identifying gaps and proposing practical, value‑adding solutions.
Develop business cases, analytical insights, and management information to support prioritisation and investment decisions.
Oversee and provide supports on selected global initiatives to ensure alignment with the needs and priorities of the APACxJapan Distribution organisation.
Provide clear, concise updates to senior management and escalate issues as required.
Occasional travel may be required.
About you
Understanding of, and experience within, the asset management industry in APACxJapan region.
Analytical and intellectually curious mindset, with a structured and detail-oriented approach to problem‑solving.
Experience leading or overseeing projects and change initiatives, with the ability to translate business needs into practical, deliverable outcomes.
Ability to analyse business requirements, identify gaps, make improvement recommendations, and drive solutions to closure.
Ability to work independently and proactively to deliver strategic initiatives under tight deadlines.
Strong stakeholder relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
Self‑motivated and collaborative, with a positive, results‑driven mindset.
Knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI, with enthusiasm for applying them to improve business outcomes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project, and Teams.
Excellent written and spoken English; additional language skills are an advantage, especially Mandarin
