Business Risk and Controls Analyst

The Business Risk and Controls Analyst focuses on determining the reliability and effectiveness of internal risk controls across the company. Under general supervision, this job is responsible for testing, risk processes and systems, and preparing reports of findings and recommendations for management.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Monitors, evaluates, and tests risks, controls, processes, and systems.
• Monitors recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws, agreements, and policies.
• Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.
• Supports cross-functional implementation of compliance programs including analysis of transaction-level risks in operational areas.
• Drafts documentation of business processes, risks and controls.
• Analyzes policies and procedures currently in place within the organization to identify gaps and weaknesses.
• Communicates new or revised policies, procedures, processes and related documents to appropriate team members and/or business units.

This individual must be a very skilled professional with Excel and should be able to deliver Excel data driven solutions at a very high level. Expertise in Excel is required for this role.

Required Skills

• Must have at least 2 years of VBA and Automation in Excel experience to include all of the following:

- Macros - Automating tasks with macros

- Excel Formulas and Functions

- VLOOKUP for precise data retrieval

- Pivot Tables - Pivot Tables to analyze and summarize large datasets

Preferred Skills

• Follow-Up Skills: Proficiency in tracking tasks and ensuring timely completion of follow-up actions

• Workflow Automation: Proficiency in creating and managing automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline business processes

• App Development: Proficiency in developing custom business applications using Power Apps, including canvas apps, model-driven apps, and portals

• Written Communication Skills: Strong ability to convey information clearly and concisely in written form, including emails, reports, and documentation

• Note-Taking Skills: Ability to accurately and efficiently capture key points and action items during meetings and discussions

• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and improve automation processes

Base Pay Range: $54,700/yr. - $89,400/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
