JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

We're seeking a Business Process Manager to lead the design, analysis, and continuous improvement of workflows across the organization. In this role, you’ll partner with stakeholders across departments to map current-state processes, identify automation
and efficiency opportunities, and drive cross-functional projects that reduce waste, cut costs, and improve the customer and employee experience. You'll be a hands-on process expert, equally comfortable with a BPMN diagram and in a room, aligning executives on a new way of working.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead end-to-end process improvement initiatives, from opportunity identification through implementation and measurement of results.
• Map current-state and future-state workflows using BPMN and other standard process modeling notations to create a shared understanding across teams.
• Identify automation opportunities (RPA, workflow automation platforms, system integrations) and partner with IT/engineering to scope and implement solutions.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops and process discovery sessions with stakeholders at all levels, from front-line staff to senior leadership.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, value stream mapping, root cause analysis) to diagnose inefficiencies and design data-driven solutions.
• Partner with Finance to build business cases for process changes, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI projections, and risk assessment.
• Develop and maintain a repository of standard operating procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and workflow governance standards.
• Support change management efforts for new processes and systems, including stakeholder communication plans, training programs, and adoption tracking.
• Define and monitor process KPIs and dashboards to track performance improvements over time and identify areas for ongoing optimization.
• Manage multiple process improvement projects simultaneously, coordinating timelines, resources, and dependencies across teams.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Strong change management skills, with experience guiding teams through process and system transitions
• Experience identifying and scoping automation opportunities, and familiarity with workflow automation or RPA tools
• Strong analytical skills, including comfort working with process/performance data and building basic financial or ROI justifications.
• Proficiency with process modelling tools
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 4+ years of experience in business process management, process improvement, operations, or management consulting.
• Demonstrated expertise in process mapping and modelling
• Lean Six Sigma certification required; Black Belt strongly preferred (Green Belt candidates with strong project experience will also be considered).
• Proven track record leading cross-functional process improvement projects with measurable business impact.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Experience in the logistics sector and/or in the US military is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or workflow platforms is a plus.
• PMP or other project management certification.

SUCCESS MEASURES / KEY OUTCOMES:
• A portfolio of completed process improvement projects with quantifiable outcomes (cycle time reduction, cost savings, error rate reduction, capacity gains).
• A well-maintained library of current-state and future-state process maps used by teams as a working reference.
• Strong cross-functional relationships and a reputation as a trusted advisor on process and operational questions.
• Successful, well-adopted rollouts of new processes and automation, with minimal disruption to business operations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office environment with a lot of time spent in the terminal. Must be able to work in terminals and access vessels, barges and all areas of company property in all types of weather. May be required to work more than a normal
workweek, including weekends. Travel is required. Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands or fingers; handle or feel; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift
and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to move between buildings, ascend/descend stairs and go outdoors in all kinds of weather. Able to write, speak and present clear, accurate and logical communications and reports to all levels of employees. Communicates instructions, information and/or concepts, attention to detail, problem solving, analysis of information reasoning, and decision making.
