The Position

The External Manufacturing Organization runs the development and manufacturing of placebos, starting materials, intermediates, drug substance, drug product, devices, delivery systems, and packaging of synthetic and biological products at external partners, primarily in Europe and North America, but also in the Rest of the World (ROW) or in an out-licensing setup. It is responsible for the outsourced development, manufacturing, and/or supply of comparators and isotope-labeled products, including radiolabeled compounds for clinical studies.

The Business Operations Enablement team functions as a centralized, process-execution hub within the External Manufacturing organization. The primary mission of this team is direct operational execution, responsibly executing necessary business processes to support the Site Managers and ECCLs in performing their core manufacturing, quality, and delivery responsibilities.

The Opportunity:

The Business Operations Partner serves as the front-line execution tier of this team. This role is focused on the direct management and seamless delivery of assigned business processes. Partners work side-by-side with Site Managers and ECCLs to identify, manage, and systematically eliminate daily operational and administrative barriers. A Partner focuses on achieving high-quality, precise execution within a designated selection of assigned workflows from the department service portfolio, while continuously striving to expand their operational versatility across the broader service portfolio over time. Furthermore:

  • Foundational Execution: Focus on mastering and executing 2–3 core service portfolio processes to build strong baseline operational depth

  • Quality & Compliance: Consistently deliver daily tasks with strict adherence to compliance standards, high accuracy, and operational efficiency

  • Site Manager & ECCL Partnership: Partner directly with assigned Site Managers and ECCLs to handle service portfolio tasks, communicate actively, and resolve process bottlenecks to maintain business continuity

  • Professional Expansion & Cross-Training: Proactively cross-train on unfamiliar workflows alongside Business Operations Enablement colleagues to scale technical execution capabilities and take on additional processes

  • Autonomous Task Execution: Independently manage day-to-day operational tasks following established guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • System Monitoring & Escalation: Identify system constraints and escalate high-impact operational outliers to Business Operations Enablement team members for strategic guidance

  • Continuous Improvement Collaboration: Partner with the Operational Excellence (OE) team during improvement rollouts by providing practical, real-work feedback on friction points and participating in portfolio continuous improvement projects

Who You Are:
  • Education: Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree in a relevant Engineering, Life Sciences, or related scientific/business discipline

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical project coordination, manufacturing support, supply chain coordination, or general business operations support

  • System Aptitude: Strong technical capability to navigate core digital platforms (such as SAP or Veeva) and data visualization software

  • Core Competencies: Collaborative team-first attitude, high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a clear execution-focused mindset
