Job Description

The Business & Market Intelligence Analyst will have the overall responsibility to provide market sizing, standardized market share reporting, and provide retail business data analysis. This role will track, monitor, and provide trends and insights regarding product, sales, and merchandising. The primary focus will be on retailer, competitor, demographics, product, price, reason for purchase, and online data trends.  Additionally, the role will be responsible for predictive analysis around promotional planning to help ensure price, volume, and mix are maximized.  The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen and the ability create diagnostic and prescriptive analytics to drive the business across the organization.

**This is a one-year maternity leave contract**

Key operational responsibilities

  • Extrapolate data to provide industry market sizing by product category, attribute, competitor, market share, price, mix and route to market segments
  • Standardize weekly, monthly, and quarterly industry performance and market share trends at product, channel down to characteristic and geography level.
  • Provide in depth data analysis around channel, brand, product, price, promotion, and placement from industry sources & macroeconomic intelligence
  • Generate data insights and make business recommendations
  • Track and analyze new competitor brand entrants and product launches
  • Support business needs and collaborate with key business stakeholders
  • Support product line reviews across all categories and sales channels
  • Curiosity to uncover channel opportunities and make recommendations
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to create monthly promotional performance and insight dashboards
  • Democratize data across internal teams and non-technical users
  • Conduct sell-out analysis of price, investment, profit, and volume utilizing internal web-based analyst in the loop tool (AITL)
  • Leverage internal retail sales from our data warehouse for analytic use
  • Budget and Strategic Plan Data Ownership
  • Product line support via the IPP (integrated product planning) process
  • Provide quarterly price / mix views from AHAM and review cross functionally
  • Create and Standardize Power BI reports to ensure alignment in reporting across the Canadian organization

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3-5 years work-related experience with similar responsibilities

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to create thoughtful and organized Power BI reports
