POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Liaison (BL) will collaborate closely with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation/ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for Blind and/or visually impaired (DVR/DVBI) Business Consultants to foster and maintain strategic business relationships across Regions IV and V. The BL will also be responsible for organizing and conducting business tours, gathering and disseminating relevant business information to staff and sharing updates to ensure broad access and engagement among team members.
The BL will serve as a key facilitator of communication, promoting alignment and collaboration, as well as represent Living Innovations Employment at career fairs, networking events, and other public forums to strengthen community and employer partnerships. The BL will also maintain up-to-date records of Living Innovations’ business connections in Maine Job Link, with weekly updates to ensure accuracy and visibility
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION:
• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Employment Specialist Certification from an ACRE approved training program. Completed within 6 months of hire date. Will train
• At least one year of directly related work with a person with a disability is preferred.
• A valid state issued driver’s license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
• DSP certification, which must include job coaching modules which must be completed within 6 months of hire date. Will train.

Essential Job Functions
• Business Development and Job Placement:
o Build and maintain relationships with community businesses helping to identify possible leads on job placement opportunities for individuals.
o Coordinate business tours and informational sessions for job seekers to help them explore potential work opportunities.
o Proactively respond to inquiries from businesses interested in partnering with Living Innovations.
o Ensure all business and work environments are safe for individuals before placement.
o Travel extensively within the contracted areas of Penobscot, Piscataquis, Hancock, Washington, and Aroostook Counties to support business development.
• Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information.
o Document business information weekly in Maine Job Link.
o Accurately report time, travel, and any incidents to your supervisor within required deadlines.
• Team Communication and Collaboration:
o Communicate proactively and professionally with peers, supervisors, and external partners.
o Distribute timely updates to the Employment team about new business partnerships and opportunities.
o Maintain and update a centralized tool for developed businesses for the Employment team.
o Provide feedback to appropriate parties as needed and be receptive to feedback from your supervisor.
o Assist in leading employment staff meetings as needed.
o Collaborate with DVR/DVBI Business Consultants on business development for Progressive Employment.
