Job Description

The Business Intelligence – Market Modeling & Competitive Analysis role is responsible for delivering data-driven insights on market dynamics, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities. This role combines advanced analytical modeling, external market intelligence, and competitive benchmarking to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and go-to-market strategies.

The role partners closely with Strategy, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to translate complex market data into clear, actionable insights that inform executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive market models, including market sizing, segmentation, growth forecasts, and scenario analysis

  • Monitor competitor activity, including pricing, product offerings, partnerships, market entry/exit, and strategic moves

  • Conduct competitive benchmarking to assess relative performance, positioning, and differentiation

  • Synthesize internal and external data sources to build a fact-based view of the competitive landscape

Modeling & Advanced Analytics

  • Build robust quantitative models to evaluate market opportunities, risks, and strategic trade-offs

  • Perform sensitivity and scenario analyses to support strategic and financial planning

  • Translate complex analytical outputs into clear narratives, visuals, and executive-ready insights

  • Ensure models are scalable, transparent, and aligned with business assumptions

Strategic Decision Support

  • Provide insights to support strategic initiatives such as market entry, pricing strategy, portfolio optimization, and M&A evaluation

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define key business questions and analytical approaches

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and key decision forums

Data & Insight Governance

  • Define standards and best practices for market and competitive intelligence analysis

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and appropriate use of external data sources

  • Continuously improve tools, methodologies, and frameworks used for market modeling and competitive analysis

Qualifications
  • Life science industry experience is a requirement. Only candidates with life science experience will be considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in science related field (MBA or Master’s degree preferred)

  • 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Strategy, Consulting, or a related analytical role in the Life Science Industry

  • Strong experience in market sizing, forecasting, and competitive analysis

  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python/R, or similar)

  • Experience working with external market data providers and competitive intelligence sources

  • Proven ability to communicate complex insights clearly to senior leaders

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $160,240.00 - $300,450.00/yr USD in the US, or $140,095.00 - $247,144.00/yr CAD in Canada, plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
