JOB TITLE: Business Intelligence Manager
SALARY: £61,344 - £68,160
LOCATION: Birmingham or Glasgow
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Birmingham or Glasgow office locations.
About this Opportunity
As part of the Performance & Insights team you will be responsible for delivering self-service reporting solutions utilising the advanced analytics and visualisation tools to Group Payments business areas and support with mentoring colleagues.
As a Business Intelligence Manager you’ll lead data‑driven governance for stakeholder forums—elevating the quality, speed, and transparency of decisions across the organisation—while empowering and mentoring junior colleagues to foster a high‑performing, engaged team culture. You’ll champion automation too, driving both Control and Process Automation within the Group Payments Performance Office and influencing change across the wider Group Payments teams.
You’ll also deliver advanced analytics and self-serve reporting solutions for Business areas within Group Payments, including:
- Leading requirement‑gathering discussions with business stakeholders to understand objectives, define data needs, and identify relevant data sources
- Designing and developing advanced reporting and analytics solutions using advanced tools and visualisation techniques to generate meaningful, actionable insights.
- Providing high‑quality, accurate, and timely reporting that meets business and regulatory requirements, leveraging both existing dashboards and newly developed reporting products
- Performing rigorous data quality assurance, validating inputs and outputs, challenging anomalies, and ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across all reporting.
- Managing data requirements, lineage, and governance controls, ensuring adherence to Group policies and enabling robust data oversight.

What you’ll need
- Proven experience in delivering advanced analytics and self-serve reporting solutions within a regulated or complex financial services environment.
- In-depth knowledge of following areas –
- Extensive experience in designing and building new reports and insights, including data ingestion, transformation from multiple sources, and the creation of impactful visualisations
- Significant experience in developing and delivering complex analytics and insights using advanced analytics tools (e.g., advanced Excel, SQL, Python) and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI)
- Strong ability to interpret large and complex data sets, designing and delivering efficient, effective solutions that meet requirements while providing high‑quality analysis, insight, and research—and proactively anticipating stakeholder needs
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, influence effectively, and collaborate across cross-functional teams and departments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, JIRA with a track record of creating high-quality governance materials for senior stakeholders
- Continuous improvement mindset, leveraging data analytics and automation to drive innovation and operational excellence.
