The focus of the President’s Office is to elevate strategic planning and governance capabilities and infuse insight and foresight through business partnership.

In an increasingly volatile macroeconomic environment marked by shifting policies, geopolitical tensions, and rapid technological disruption, making well-informed strategic decisions requires continuous, structured intelligence. This role will serve as a dedicated resource to monitor macroeconomic signals, benchmark competitors, and track emerging technology and social trends, providing leadership with a single source of actionable insights. By investing in this hire, we are building a strategic capability that enables faster, data-driven decision-making, stronger competitive positioning, and a more resilient, forward-looking organization.

The impact you can create at CHANEL: Together with Head of Foresight and Business Trends, you will make impact on the following area

  • Macro-Economic Research: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of macroeconomic indicators, policy changes, geopolitical changes, global market developments, and other macro indicators affecting the industry and business environment

  • Competition Benchmarking: Analyse and benchmark key competitors’ strategies, especially the emerging challengers in the region, and their performance, and positioning. Identify competitive threats and whitespace opportunities to inform strategic planning

  • Trends Tracking: Monitor and report on technology, social, cultural and macroeconomic trends relevant to industry. Identify emerging disruptions, opportunities, and risks, and curate and distribute trend reports, newsletters, or dashboards to keep stakeholders informed

  • Reporting & Presentation: Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights and present to senior stakeholders. Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations

  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal to deliver timely and relevant insights for business decisions

What You Will Bring

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, business, or related field

    • Working experience in research, strategy, or competitive intelligence roles
       

  • Analytical Skills:

    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills

    • Ability to interpret complex data sets and distill key insights
       

  • Technical & Software Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

    • Experience with Thinkcell, Photoshop, Figma or other software for data visualization and presentation automation

    • Knowledge of AI-based tools for research and automation
       

  • Soft Skills and Competency

    • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin. Korea is a plus

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    • Proactive, curious, and adaptable mindset

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative, cross-functional environment

    • High ethical standards, discretion, and a strong sense of confidentiality when handling sensitive data
