The Business Intelligence Lead solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. This role will work with analytics, product, and business areas across the organization to optimize digital experiences with insights from data and reporting. The Business Intelligence Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Key responsibilities of the Business Intelligence Lead include:
- Serve as a subject matter expert to identify unique insights and solve complex business challenges using a variety of data sources.
- Lead associates in the tasks of providing reporting, analytics solutions, and data science with the objective of optimizing performance and improving member experience.
- Build and present story-driven presentations based on analytics, drawing on advance, in-depth knowledge and industry experience.
- Take ownership of complex process improvement and metrics development, providing creative solutions and driving strategic direction of digital data and reporting.
- Upskill the Business Intelligence team in data architecture and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to be creative, anticipate and be proactive around next steps in large initiatives.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences and business outcomes.
- Own multiple projects, activities, and processes while collaborating with adjacent business intelligence and data science teams to drive digital reporting strategy and outcomes.
- Manage and prioritize requests from team members and cross functional partners and set realistic expectations.
- Produce meaningful strategy and direction for influencing member engagement and outreach strategies through detailed analysis of user interactions and outcomes.
- Dig beneath the surface of a problem to ascertain the “Why” in the backend data, uncover the true reasons data patterns and skews may be showing up, and convert those findings into clearly understandable, data-backed recommendations, to influence future digital experience strategies.
- Responsible for uncovering data anomalies, discovering business insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques.
- Develop presentations around insights and tell compelling stories with the data, and deliver to constituents at all levels: strategic, tactical, operational, and across functions: marketing, operations, finance, etc.
- Communicate and present findings, orally and visually in a way that can be easily understood by business counterparts.
Use your skills to make an impact
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
- 7+ years professional experience in digital technology or health care
- 5+ years of experience in data-centric roles such as Data Science, Business Intelligence, business analytics, data warehousing, data acquisition, Big Data, or data architecture
- Experience with Adobe digital reporting or comparable user experience analytics tools
- Experience with SQL and visualization tools like Power BI
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences
- Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs and win their co-ownership in the outcome
- Embrace a service mentality to collaborate with Operations, Business Intelligence teams, Database teams, and IT to assure data processes are automated, efficient, and to identify insights and/or solve complex business challenges
