Reporting to the Business Intelligence Principal, the Business Intelligence Lead solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Humana’s Enterprise Growth organization is seeking a Business Intelligence Lead who has strong experience with SQL, Power BI and Python/PySpark to join the Growth Analytics & AI Team. This is a remote role working anywhere in the US. As the Business Intelligence Lead, you will solve complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR a Master's degree and 3 years of experience
  • You have advanced Python/Pyspark experience
  • You have advanced experience in Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, scheduled jobs/workflows, and service principal authentication
  • You have experience refactoring and optimizing Python/Pyspark codebases
  • You have experience building production data pipelines with enforced schemas, validation gates, and structured error logging
  • You have advanced SQL experience, including stored procedure execution and read/write integration with SQL Server systems of record
  • You have experience with Git-based engineering practice: branching, pull requests, code review, and CI/CD
  • You have experience working with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs
  • You have proficiency in both verbal and written communications to senior and executive leadership
  • This position requires learning many systems, policies, and tools, and it takes time to become proficient in the role. Must be willing to remain in this position for a period of twelve (12) months before applying to other Humana opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Platform ETL and orchestration tooling (Azure Data Factory, Airflow, dbt, Delta Live Tables, or Lakeflow)
  • Data quality frameworks (dbt tests, DLT expectations, etc.)
  • Pipeline observability: job monitoring, alerting, SLAs, and incident runbooks
  • Front-end development with TypeScript (Angular or React), including component architecture and REST consumption
  • Ontology or knowledge-graph modeling (LinkML, RDF/OWL/SHACL, or equivalent)

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$117,600 - $161,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
