About the Role

RainFocus’ Business Intelligence Team plays a critical role in surfacing our clients’ event data so that they can understand it and make decisions from it. In this internship, you will work alongside members of RainFocus’ BI Team in this effort, creating effective and insightful reports and dashboards. The work is fast paced and requires someone willing to be a team player, who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain excellent communication. This internship will be one that emphasizes growth, so the ideal intern would be someone willing to learn and grow and willing to take on new things through the duration of the internship.

Responsibilites

• Use SQL and our in-house reporting tool to create custom reports and dashboards
• Create effective dashboards with helpful visualizations and KPIs
• Communicate professionally and timely with internal team members, and sometimes clients, on the status of analysis projects
• Be willing to investigate data discrepancies to find underlying causes and recommend fixes

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills such as communication, empathy, negotiation, teamwork and a positive attitude 
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work with a lot of data with attention to detail and accuracy
• An eagerness to learn and help
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
• Ability to read and understand existing SQL queries
• Ability to understand database joins and table structures

Bonus Skills

• Has knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (R, Python, SAS etc.)
• Has knowledge of advanced SQL skills like window functions and CTE’s
