Business Intelligence Manager
Brief Overview of Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Business Intelligence Manager to own the design and delivery of a domain-oriented data mart that powers advanced analytics, AI/ML, and self-service BI across the organization. You will collaborate with business leaders, analytics professionals, and engineers to create data products that drive innovation and strategic decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of critical data assets, balance technical contribution with strategic planning, and directly impact the organization’s analytics transformation.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, reusable data marts within the bank’s Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), ensuring they meet the performance and usability needs of BI, reporting, and AI/ML use cases
- Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to identify opportunities for new data products and features in support of high-value use cases, and translate those business requirements into detailed user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of BI dashboards and reports for critical use cases
- Conduct hands-on testing of data models, pipelines, and BI solutions to ensure accuracy, scalability, and usability
- Act as a technical lead in collaborating with the enterprise data engineering and technology teams
- Mentor junior BI developers and analysts on the team, sharing best practices in data modeling, pipeline development, and advanced analytics enablement
- Lead code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure quality and consistency across deliverables
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, transformations, and workflows to ensure transparency and scalability
- Implement and enforce data governance standards, including data validation, quality checks, and lineage tracking
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related technical field
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Advanced understanding of data warehouse concepts and modern enterprise data architectures
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with a strong ability to optimize queries and transformations in Snowflake
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI for building and validating dashboards, and optimizing datasets and/or queries for reporting; ability to guide best practices for data visualization across the team
- Extensive experience designing and implementing dimensional data models (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) for scalable and enterprise-grade data marts; knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 is a plus
- Strong experience with data pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow
- Advanced expertise with Coalesce, dbt, or similar tools for building and managing modular, production-grade transformations
- Proven experience implementing automated validation frameworks and troubleshooting complex data issues
- Experience integrating AI/ML workflows into data pipelines and building feature stores
- Hands-on experience with data governance principles, including tools like Collibra
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, while mentoring junior team members and leading technical initiatives
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities on complex projects, initiatives, and deliverables
- Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) is a plus
- Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps and Git is a plus
