Role Description
Symphony is seeking a data-driven Business Intelligence & Solutions Placement Student to join our university program for a duration of 9 months starting in June 2027. At Symphony, real-time enterprise communication generates critical operational data that shapes our strategic direction. In this role, you will work at the intersection of data engineering, business strategy, and product development to translate raw data into actionable insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across Sales, Product, and Engineering to build dynamic dashboards, audit data integrity, and help guide key business decisions using analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Visualization: Assist in designing, building, and maintaining automated dashboards to track platform usage and key business metrics.
- Process & Workflow Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in current data reporting workflows and propose automated solutions to streamline data delivery.
- Market & Solution Research: Conduct competitive analysis and business research to help the Solutions team evaluate new vertical and market opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to gather reporting requirements and deliver custom analytical insights.
- Data Hygiene & Auditing: Perform routine audits and data cleaning across internal databases to ensure high standards of data integrity and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Core Technical Skills: Solid proficiency in SQL querying, advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, complex formulas), and exposure to programming languages like Python or R.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong quantitative skills with a sharp eye for detail when identifying data trends, anomalies, and business opportunities.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for diverse stakeholders.
- Adaptability & Drive: Ability to manage multiple data projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced technology environment.
