Job SummaryWorks with business stakeholders to understand business data needs and provides meaningful reporting and analysis. Works within Power BI as well as source system reporting, and other reporting tools as needed; understanding where to leverage data for the most meaningful business insights. Models data within BI and analysis tools, creating collaborative and easily understandable data infrastructure for other data professionals and end users.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and provide insightful reporting and analysis.
  • Utilize reporting tools and source systems to extract meaningful business insights.
  • Model data within BI and analysis tools to create user-friendly data infrastructure.
  • Lead BI projects from requirements gathering to implementation and stakeholder management.
  • Ensure adherence to data quality standards and suggest process improvements as needed.
  • Conduct deep dives to diagnose business challenges and provide valuable insights.
  • Develop strong relationships with supported teams and collaborate closely with ETL Developers.
  • Independently establish positive relationships throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with business partners at all levels.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in data analysis or business analysis preferably in a financial setting.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, analytics, or related field from an accredited institution or 2 additional years combined experience in a setting that demonstrates analytical capability.

Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Microsoft certification in Power BI Data Analyst Associate or similar certifications or education preferred.

Managerial Responsibility

Computer/Office Equipment Skills

  • Strong knowledge and experience using T-SQL, SQL, or other data extraction coding languages.
  • Thorough knowledge in analytical software such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Experience with data warehouse architecture, data modeling, and SQL querying techniques.
  • Experience building reporting solutions and data visualization.

Language Skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results and recommendations verbally, in writing and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations
  • Demonstrated ability to document outcomes and present information in a manner appropriate for key stakeholders and all levels of the organization.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of statistical analysis and data management practices.
  • Experience managing projects using Agile methodology.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Desire and willingness to continually update knowledge base on financial concepts and systems.
  • Experience building reporting solutions from scratch, data visualization, and creating clean, user-focused visualizations.
  • Experience collaborating on projects involving multiple teams, managing ongoing relationships with customers, and navigating unstructured environments.
