The Role

Job Summary 

As part of the Enterprise Analytics Team, the Business Intelligence Analyst will work with support departments to understand needs and help develop reports and tools for consolidating, analyzing, and providing access to data that helps users make better business decisions.  This position will be a storyteller, serving up data in an easily consumable way that enables business users to better understand their operating environment.  Working closely with operations and all support teams, this position will deliver data to identify new business opportunities through data analysis and improve performance through more efficient use of enterprise data. This position will be key to expanding reporting content, capabilities, and access across the company.   

Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and requests in a fast-paced environment.  Prior business intelligence and data analytics experience using SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and data visualization tools, as well as good written & oral communication skills is preferred.  This candidate is eager to expand their technical skillset, excels at critical thinking and possesses the ability to explain complex data concepts to business users. Additionally, this candidate excels at creating organized documentation and training materials. This position requires attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. 

Essential Functions 

  • Develop, maintain, and support complex business intelligence applications and solutions 

  • Utilize data mining techniques and develop tabular data models that enable the visualization and interpretation of data 

  • Expansion of current BI platform 

  • Maintain and build upon the current dashboards and reporting tools 

  • Build out data models and reporting in Microsoft Fabric 

  • Optimize data structures and efficiency 

  • Document Camden’s data analytics and business intelligence reports to enable efficient “self-serve” capabilities 

  • Create training materials 

  • Identify and execute on reporting capabilities that help maximize efficiencies and minimize operational costs 

  • Perform ad-hoc data mining and data analysis as needed 

  • Implement the recommendations of management 

 

Job Qualifications  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics or equivalent 

  • 1-2 years of experience in a Data Analytics or Business Intelligence role, multifamily housing industry is preferred 

  • SQL, Microsoft Fabric, or similar programming and development experience is required 

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to execute on numerous projects simultaneously 

  • Exceptional critical thinking/problem solving skills  

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills 

  • Experience working within the Office 365 environment (Teams, One Drive, Power Suite) 

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Experience using Python is a plus

  • Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climb stairs) 

  • Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing 

  • Works in a typical office setting 

  • Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position 

  • Must handle stressful, urgent, novel and diverse work situations on a daily basis 

  • May require long hours and odd schedules (including weekends) 

  • Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities 

  • May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips  

  • Attendance and punctuality is essential for success in this position 

  • Hazards can be minimized with proper lifting techniques, SDS, general safety training, and wearing appropriate PPE
