Role Summary
Applied Materials is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to transform large inventory and variance datasets into actionable insights that improve decision‑making across Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance. The role designs automated dashboards, enhances reporting processes, and supports the quarterly financial submission cadence with accurate reconciliations and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets related to inventory, variances, material flows, and operations across AMAT’s global supply chain.
- Build, maintain, and automate dashboards and manual inventory reporting processes using Power BI, Tableau, and similar BI tools.
- Maintain critical inventory‑related Tableau dashboards; independently troubleshoot issues and ensure reporting continuity.
- Collaborate with GIS and technical teams to resolve data quality, pipeline, and integration issues.
- Consolidate and extract large amounts of SAP data; summarize into clear, digestible insights for business partners.
- Diagnose data inconsistencies, identify trends/anomalies, and build automated processes or platforms to support recurring analysis.
- Support the quarterly financial submission cadence with required data, reconciliations, and analytics.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and IT to translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions.
- Present insights clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders; train and support users on dashboards and reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working with large, complex datasets in fast‑paced operational environments.
- Strong analytical skills with understanding of inventory behavior, materials flow, and variance drivers.
- Proficiency with BI tools: Power BI, Tableau (preferred)
- Strong SQL for querying, transformation, and validation.
- Advanced Excel skills: PivotTables, advanced formulas (XLOOKUP/INDEX‑MATCH/nested logic), Power Query / Power Pivot, data modeling; ability to build automated/semi‑automated templates.
- Understanding of basic financial analysis and forecasting concepts (e.g., variance analysis, trend modeling, sensitivity).
- Strong data storytelling, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, inventory management, or operational analytics; semiconductor/high‑tech experience a plus.
- SAP & BPC proficiency (nice‑to‑have).
- Familiarity with ERP ecosystems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and modern data platforms (Azure, Snowflake).
- Experience working within a global organization and across multiple time zones.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or related field

NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
