We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Business Director to lead our marketing department and drive business growth in Australia. In this highly visible and important role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, managing a team, and overseeing all marketing activities. You will work closely with senior management to align marketing efforts with the company's overall business objectives. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of marketing principles, and a track record of driving successful marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and expand high-level client partnerships, driving overall satisfaction.
  • Possess a deep understanding of clients' business objectives, marketing goals, and challenges in order to provide relevant and strategic recommendations and solutions. 

Business Development and Growth:

  • Drive business development initiatives at a larger scale, actively prospecting and pitching.
  • Run agency introductions and new business pitches, preparing and maintaining agency credentials and case studies.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's business objectives, target audience, and market trends. 
  • Identify growth opportunities, market gaps, and emerging trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage. 

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Manage and mentor a team of account managers, coordinators, and specialists to ensure the successful implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns. 
  • Actively contribute clear direction, support and feedback to account team members, identifying success metrics and goals, conducting performance reviews and implementing plans designed to promote professional growth and development. 
  • Foster a high-performance culture, guiding and developing growth-related thinking and activity within the account team.
  • Report into Client Director on team performance and requirements; commercial targets, resource, customer insights and providing solutions to any issues that may arise.
  • Provide strategic oversight on major campaigns and initiatives where required.
  • Share industry insights and thought leadership with clients and internal teams to drive innovation, collaboration and creative solutions. 

Brand Management and Positioning:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of brand strategies and guidelines to ensure consistent brand positioning and messaging.
  • Monitor market trends and consumer insights to drive brand differentiation and relevance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing channels and touchpoints.

Marketing Campaigns and Initiatives:

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital marketing, advertising, content creation, social media, and events.
  • Set campaign objectives, budgets, and timelines, and ensure their successful implementation.
  • Monitor campaign performance and analytics and make data-driven recommendations for optimization and improvement.

Market Research and Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct market research, customer surveys, and competitor analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and areas for business growth.
  • Utilize market insights to inform marketing strategies and messaging and identify opportunities for product or service enhancements.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as sales, product management, and senior executives, to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors to support marketing initiatives.
  • Present marketing strategies, plans, and results to senior management and stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience 8 years in marketing management or director-level roles, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices across various channels and industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a focus on driving business growth and ROI.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of market research methodologies and data analysis.
  • Proficient in using marketing analytics tools and platforms to track and measure campaign performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financials, budgeting, and profitability.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing business and market environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
