The Business Development Specialist (BDS) will assist customers with the purchase and ongoing support of our end-to-end communications products, video, security, and access control, incident management, and installation/service support. The Business Development Specialist will call, setup, and schedule appointments with existing and future customers. They will create and send advertisements and promotions, provide direction and input to the website developers, and use the company-provided Point of Sale (POS) equipment to perform cash and credit transactions. In addition, the BDS will control and track inventory and provide sales history reports. They will become an expert in the use of the Motorola and other vendor product ordering websites. They will also assist in the preparation and response to sales bids.  Plan and manage marketing plan to increase product and technology awareness within the particular sales territory.  Attend trade shows and other marketing/sales events.

Qualifications

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Will communicate effectively with the customers to determine and suggest the best product and service solutions.

  • Sell and provide hands-on technical sales/support to the current and future customers.
  • Obtain the required Motorola sales and technical certifications required to support and sell the various Motorola products.
  • Learn the various radios, IT and security camera based equipment, software and video products, and systems offered by Motorola.
  • Process customer orders and respond promptly to incoming calls or emails from customers regarding products, services, prices, and scheduling or shipment of products and services.
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide and gather information on customer leads, concerns, questions and requirements.
  • Contact customers using the phone, email, face to face / on-site visits or at trade shows to proactively sell products and leasing services. Will inform customers of any sales promotions, marketing surveys available.
  • Use the Motorola websites to order product, maintain sales and customer information, respond to COOP refunds, respond to any marketing and sales promotions. Obtain product pricing and information.
  • Coordinate the trade shows and Motorola regional shows.
  • Maintain the show room by restocking sold items and ensuring the displays are in proper working order and pricing on products are accurate.
  • Coordinate Return Material Authorization requests.
  • Follows proper accounting and auditing procedures / instructions.
  • Provide proper reporting of sales, returns, etc. Properly file important business documents.
  • Greet walk-in customers, provide product information (including features and pricing) on Products. Provide service status updates to the customer by working with the technical service staff.
  • Process inventory to and from sales shows, showroom or installation areas.
  • Conduct basic administrative procedures to meet customer requirements.
  • Any other duty as assigned.
