The Business Development Specialist supports RadiFi Credit Union’s membership growth and community engagement efforts by building relationships with local businesses, schools, nonprofits, community organizations, RadiFi at Work partners, and other community-based contacts. This role is focused on creating meaningful connections that introduce individuals and families to RadiFi membership, products, services, and financial wellness resources.
This position works closely with Branch Managers, Mortgage Loan Officers, and the Marketing team to support community outreach, RadiFi at Work partnerships, sponsorship activations, financial wellness presentations, lead generation, and follow-up. The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable representing RadiFi in the community.
This role is based at Park Street Headquarters and requires frequent local travel for meetings, events, partner visits, and community engagement. A flexible schedule is required, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, based on outreach activities and business needs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Support RadiFi’s membership growth goals by identifying and participating in outreach opportunities that connect eligible individuals and families to RadiFi membership.er internal partner.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, nonprofits, community organizations, RadiFi at Work partners, and other community-based contacts.
- Represent RadiFi at community events, school events, nonprofit events, sponsorship activations, workplace financial wellness visits, and partner activities.
- Support RadiFi at Work partnerships by helping coordinate financial wellness presentations, partner visits, employee benefit events, and membership education opportunities.
- Work with Branch Managers to identify local outreach opportunities that support branch-level growth, community visibility, and new member relationships.
- Support Mortgage Loan Officers with homebuyer education opportunities, real estate-related events, and community outreach that connects prospective homebuyers to RadiFi.
- Engage event attendees in meaningful conversations about RadiFi membership, products, services, digital account opening, financial wellness resources, and community impact.
- Capture leads, referrals, partner interest, and follow-up opportunities in accordance with RadiFi’s approved process.
- Coordinate timely follow-up with the appropriate Branch Manager, Mortgage Loan Officer, Marketing team member, or other internal partner.
- Provide feedback on outreach activities, lead quality, audience fit, partner opportunities, and future membership growth potential.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, partner contacts, prospective member leads, referrals, and follow-up actions.
- Prepare regular updates on partner engagement, lead generation, referral activity, follow-up progress, and membership growth opportunities.
- Stay informed about RadiFi’s current promotions, products, membership eligibility, digital account opening process, and community initiatives.
- Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk to hear. The associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must lift/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, and use a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to set up and break down event materials, including tables, banners, supplies, promotional items, and collateral.
• Ability to lift and carry event supplies and materials up to 25-40 pounds, as needed.

QualificationsKnowledge and Skills:
Experience:
Three or more years of experience in business development, community outreach, sales, marketing, public relations, or a related role is needed. Experience representing an organization at community events, partner visits, school events, nonprofit events, workplace events, or public presentations preferred. Financial institution or credit union experience and/or experience working with financial wellness programs is a plus.
Education:
(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program is required. A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, public relations, community relations, or a related field is preferred.
