Role Description:
The Business Development Specialist / Manager is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and initiating relationships with prospective clients and strategic partners to generate new revenue opportunities for Symphony. This role is focused on the top-of-the-funnel growth, driving market expansion, and scheduling exploratory meetings for the Sales organization. The Specialist requires a strong understanding of the financial technology landscape, exceptional research skills, and the ability to articulate Symphony's value proposition to executive and technical buyers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively research, identify, and target new enterprise accounts and market segments that align with Symphony’s ideal customer profile within the financial services and technology sectors.
- Execute multi-channel outreach campaigns (email, phone, social) to engage decision-makers and key stakeholders. Successfully qualify prospects based on defined budget, authority, need, and timeline (BANT) criteria.
- Schedule high-quality initial meetings and product demonstrations for the Account Executive (Sales) team, ensuring seamless and effective transition of qualified opportunities.
- Gather competitive intelligence, market feedback, and industry information during outreach efforts, sharing insights with the Sales and Product Marketing teams to refine messaging and targeting.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. 2+ years of professional experience in Business Development (BDR/SDR), Lead Generation, or Inside Sales, preferably within the Fintech, Enterprise SaaS, or B2B Technology sector.
- Strong foundational knowledge of the financial services industry, common business structures, and B2B sales cycles. Familiarity with technical communication or collaboration tools is a plus.
- Proven proficiency in utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement tools for tracking activity, managing pipelines, and reporting metrics.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to engage executive-level contacts persuasively. Highly motivated, resilient, and goal-oriented, with a clear focus on achieving monthly and quarterly targets.
- Preferred - Fluency in French
