Business Development Specialist (Office: Nashville, TN)
The Business Development Specialist drives demand generation and pipeline growth by engaging prospective and existing customers through inbound and outbound outreach, qualifying sales opportunities, and executing targeted marketing and sales campaigns. This role partners with Sales and Marketing to identify customer needs, advance qualified opportunities through the sales funnel, and maintain accurate customer and opportunity data within Salesforce. Success requires strong communication and relationship-building skills, effective prospecting and qualification techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering an exceptional customer experience and measurable pipeline impact.
Your role:
Execute inbound and outbound customer engagement activities across phone, email, digital, and marketing channels to identify customer needs, qualify opportunities, and generate pipeline.
Conduct customer discovery and lead qualification by assessing business needs, buying intent, and opportunity potential, then determining appropriate next steps for sales engagement.
Manage assigned sales and marketing campaigns from launch through completion, including campaign preparation, outreach execution, lead follow-up, qualification activities, opportunity creation, and performance tracking.
Create, maintain, and update customer records and sales opportunities within Salesforce and related systems, ensuring accurate documentation of customer interactions, qualification outcomes, and pipeline activity.
Partner with Marketing, Sales, and internal stakeholders to improve lead quality, optimize campaign effectiveness, support opportunity handoffs, and contribute to pipeline growth and commercial objectives.

1+ years of experience in demand generation, inside sales, lead qualification, or customer engagement with a demonstrated ability to generate and qualify sales opportunities.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to engage customers, conduct discovery conversations, identify customer needs, qualify opportunities, and build relationships that support pipeline growth.
Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, with strong attention to detail in managing customer, lead, and opportunity data.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, campaigns, and customer interactions while delivering a high-quality customer experience and meeting performance expectations.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Philips Transparency Details
The hourly pay range for this position in Nashville, TN is $25.00 - $40.00, plus overtime eligibility.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
