Summary: The Business Development Specialist will serve as a key ambassador for our organization, focusing on building relationships with community partners, promoting awareness of our mental health services, and generating client referrals. This role combines networking, community engagement, and strategic outreach to connect underserved individuals with the care they need.  The ideal candidate will be proactive and resourceful, with a talent for building partnerships and a passion for helping others. 

Primary Job Responsibilities: 

Outreach and Engagement: 

• Identify and establish relationships with referral sources, such as schools, clinics, community centers, and healthcare providers.

• Conduct regular site visits, presentations, and community events to promote our services.

• Distribute promotional materials, such as flyers and brochures, to key stakeholders and potential clients.

• Represent the organization at public events, conferences, and meetings to build visibility.

Referral Generation: 

• Serve as a liaison between referral sources and the intake team to ensure smooth client transitions.

• Actively track and follow up with referral sources to maintain relationships and encourage ongoing referrals.

• Identify and onboard new referral sources to diversify the referral pipeline.

• Monitor referral outcomes to measure and improve outreach effectiveness.

Tracking and Reporting: 

• Maintain a detailed outreach activity log via CRM, documenting all visits, contacts, and events.

• Provide weekly reports summarizing outreach activities, referrals, and feedback from the community.

Collaboration: 

• Work closely with the intake team and program staff to monitor referral quality and ensure program eligibility. 

• Participate in team meetings to share insights, strategies, and opportunities for improvement. 

Qualifications: 

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in marketing, 

communications, social work, or a related field preferred. 

 Experience: 

o 1–2 years of experience in outreach, community engagement, marketing, or a 

similar role. 

o Experience in the mental health or healthcare field is a plus. 

Skills: 

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build 

relationships. 

o Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a passion for helping others. 

o Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. 

o Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. 

Other Requirements: 

o Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. 

o Willingness to travel locally for community visits and events.
