We are seeking a temporary Business Development Specialist to support the clean-up and enhancement of Foundation, the firm’s experience management database, with a focus on Capital Markets and Global Finance matters. This role will work closely with the Business Development & Marketing teams, lawyers, and the Knowledge Management team to improve the accuracy, consistency, and usability of matter data and descriptions. The position will play an important role in strengthening the firm’s ability to support pitches, client development efforts, lateral integration, and league table submissions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review, update, and organize Capital Markets and Global Finance matters in Foundation

  • Draft, revise, and standardize matter descriptions using available deal information, attorney input, firm materials, and public sources where appropriate

  • Identify incomplete, inconsistent, duplicative, or outdated matter records and correct them to improve searchability and reporting

  • Coordinate with lawyers, Business Development, and the Knowledge Management team to confirm matter details, align descriptions, and ensure consistency across systems and materials

  • Help ensure matters are appropriately categorized, tagged, and attributed so that relevant experience can be identified quickly for pitches and other business development needs

  • Support quality control efforts for lawyer profiles, experience lists, and related submissions that rely on Foundation data

  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive client and matter information

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • Experience working in Foundation or a similar legal experience management or marketing database strongly preferred. Alternatively, paralegal experience supporting transactional practices, particularly Capital Markets, Banking, or Finance, is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of transactional matter types and the ability to distill deal information into clear, concise, business development-ready descriptions

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through

  • Ability to manage a high volume of records and work efficiently across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

  • Strong written communication skills and sound judgment in handling confidential information

  • Experience working in a law firm or other professional services environment preferred

Preferred:

  • Prior experience supporting Capital Markets and/or Global Finance lawyers or matters

  • Familiarity with lawyer profiles, deal databases, pitch materials, and related business development processes

  • Experience coordinating across Business Development, Knowledge Management, and practice group teams

The target salary range for this role is:

$48 - $63 per hour if located in New York

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
