Business Development Representative
Hunt for new opportunities in this sales role with an award-winning and growth-minded IT services firm.
You will be selling *professional services* with a 3- to 6-month sales cycle, not software or other technology products that boil down to a feature comparison.
**Pay & Benefits**
- $60-$80K base + uncapped commission

**Responsibilities**
- Hunt for opportunities by making phone calls, attending trade shows and conferences, knocking on doors, and building your own personal network.
- Embody Optimal’s well-respected brand of premium service and integrity-based sales through all digital and in-person interactions.
- Quickly disqualify leads that will not be a good fit for Optimal’s services and value proposition.
- Navigate prospects through the sales process from initial contact to seamless hand-off to our service delivery team.
**Expected Output**
- Set at least 2 appointments per week.
- Produce at least 2 sales qualified leads per month.
- Grow into an Account Executive role within 12-18 months.

**Qualifications**
- 1-3 years of experience with consultative, full-cycle B2B service (not product) sales.
- Familiarity with IT/MSP services and cybersecurity in the small to mid-sized business space.
- Familiarity with the DC law firm, consulting, or association markets and how IT impacts them.
- Exceptional communication skills whether the interaction is over email, phone, video, or coffee.
- Resilient positivity that will keep you motivated in a competitive industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or other relevant field.
- Comfort with technology tools like Slack, Asana, Salesforce, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
