Cayenta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Innovation Manager to join our dynamic team and drive the growth of our software in the utility market. As a market leader in utility management solutions, we provide innovative software that optimizes customer billing processes and enhances utility management efficiency.
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Sales Innovation Manager plays a key role in driving efficiency, consistency, and innovation across the sales lifecycle, with a strong focus on improving RFP responses, optimizing pre-sales workflows, and supporting product demonstrations. This role blends process design, content strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the sales team is equipped with the right tools, materials, and systems to win business. This individual will lead initiatives that streamline proposal development, improve demo preparation, and support scalable sales practices that directly impact revenue growth and client engagement.
This is a remote position. The candidate will be based in Canada or the United States.
What your impact will be:
In performing this role your core duties and responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
🔧 Process Optimization & Sales Enablement- Analyze and optimize RFP and pre-sales workflows to reduce manual effort and increase consistency.
- Implement and maintain scalable sales processes, SOPs, templates, and toolkits to support repeatable success.
- Develop standardized response frameworks and improve content reuse for faster, higher-quality RFP submissions.
- Build and maintain a centralized content library of proposal material, demo scripts, customer references, and sales assets.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content remains accurate, consistent, and aligned with company messaging.
- Maintain version control, tagging, and searchability of sales content for fast access by team members.
- Support the coordination and preparation of product demonstrations, including internal planning and demo team alignment.
- Develop and maintain demo playbooks, reusable demo scripts, and scenario templates tailored to industry use cases.
- Track demo effectiveness and implement continuous improvements based on feedback from prospects and internal teams.
- Serve as a liaison between sales and product to align demo capabilities with solution messaging and roadmap features.
- Evaluate and implement tools to support sales automation, RFP response, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
- Administer sales systems such as RFPIO/Loopio, Salesforce, Confluence, or equivalent platforms.
- Ensure tool adoption and proper usage through documentation and user training.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Implementation teams to align on messaging, customer needs, and solution capabilities.
- Participate in post-mortem sessions after RFP submissions or demos to gather insights and identify areas for improvement.
- Contribute to sales onboarding by providing training on tools, demo procedures, and proposal best practices.
- Champion innovation in sales operations by introducing forward-thinking processes and technologies.
- Use metrics and feedback to evaluate the success of implemented improvements.
- Stay current on trends in proposal automation, sales enablement, and demo delivery to recommend enhancements.
What we are looking for:
- Proven track record in business development sales role, with 2+ years of direct experience selling to municipalities and local government.
- Proven track record of self-generating leads and pipeline.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and foster strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Self-driven, proactive, positive, and goal-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Hunter attitude with an enthusiastic spirit.
- A preference for working knowledge of Salesforce CRM.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events, as required.

Salary: 80K - 110K
