The Role
At Sovos, we're looking for someone to help us connect with businesses that need better tax compliance solutions. In this market development role, you'll build relationships with prospects, educate them about our offerings, and create qualified opportunities for our sales team. You'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on outreach to drive pipeline growth and help organisations discover how we can solve their toughest compliance challenges.
More specifically, you will:
- Build qualified pipeline by conducting outreach, networking, and following up on marketing campaigns to connect with potential customers.
- Partner with Sales Executives to develop and execute territory plans that drive meaningful revenue opportunities.
- Independently introduce and position Sovos solutions to prospects, educating them on the value we deliver.
- Deliver regular forecasts of pipeline creation and revenue performance, tracking progress against goals.
- Leverage AI tools and creative thinking to identify improvements in outreach strategies, messaging, processes, and tools that benefit both prospects and internal teams.
- Autonomously manage multiple sales opportunities at once, actively nurturing each through the pipeline.
What You Bring to Sovos
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts in a business development context.
- You're motivated by goals and have a track record of achieving measurable results, whether in sales, client-facing roles, or other performance-driven environments.
- Strong understanding of how businesses operate, including familiarity with financial systems and organisational decision-making.
- Comfortable engaging with mid-level and executive contacts at prospective client organisations.
- Excellent communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats, with the ability to present confidently to groups of any size.
- Comfortable learning and using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and productivity tools, with interest in leveraging AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency.
- Strong planning, prioritisation, and multitasking abilities, paired with close attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire.
