The Business Development Representative is responsible for meeting goals and objectives by covering all sales functions in an assigned territory, forecasts, solicits and secures orders from potential and existing customers. The BDR will also work in coordination with Associate Sales Reps, Director of Sales and Healthcare Solutions, on selling opportunities. The primary duty involves generating, tracking and following up on leads within assigned territory.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary objective is consistent achievement of monthly/ quarterly revenue and margin goals for the assigned territory through phone, email, and other electronic methods of creating business remotely. This translates into the following specific responsibilities:
- Generating sales by contacting customers who have been identified as targets within the geographic region that is assigned. When required, a formal quote will be provided, training will be conducted, demonstrations provided, and in some cases clinical education will be offered via electronic means.
 - Have a quota to achieve on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Tracking performance to quota will be provided and the Business Development Representative is responsible for the effort to achieve this objective.
 - Creating and maintaining Opportunities within the company's CRM platform. This entails estimating the value of an opportunity, advancing the opportunity along stages, documenting conversations corresponding with the opportunity as well as updating contact information for all accounts. as known, within the assigned territory.
 - Accurate Forecasting – consistent implementation of pipeline management and forecast discipline to assure forecast accuracy for region.
 - Work with Marketing on the development and implementation of specific sales marketing plans that target our database of existing customers as well as developing customer lists for new market opportunities.
 - Execute specific Business Plans as they are presented, both for internal management and with CONMED sales channels.
 - Ensure that all established policies and business practices are consistent.
 - Exhibit commitment to all assigned tasks and responsibilities by demonstrating leadership, impeccable integrity, strong work ethic, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
 - Document and obtain requests for approvals when necessary for special pricing or other customer agreements and channel contract terms.
 - Build and maintain professional, responsive, and high-integrity relationships.
 - Exercise good judgment and discretionary decision authority to take advantage of opportunities to drive over achievement of business goals and objectives.
 - Travel as necessary to achieve business objectives.
 - Gather information and convey that information to Marketing as well as document that information in the company's CRM program.
 - Work closely with the Director of Sales to align targets, coordinate local sales related activities to close opportunities, and create a robust opportunity pipeline.
 - Participate fully in training sessions, meetings, skill building, and professional development classes.
 - Actively participate in National and Regional Sales Meetings.
 - Perform other duties as assigned and requested.
 
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years of sales experience. Prior medical device sales experience preferred.
 - Highly proficient level computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Google Docs, CRM

Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is $60,000 - $62,000 with bonus opportunity. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED’s good faith belief at the time of this posting.
