Position Overview
  • Role Title: Business Development Representative (BDR)

  • Location: Tokyo, Japan (Hybrid/Office-based)

  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (正社員 - Shain)

  • Language Requirements:
    -> Native-level/Fluent Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent). Absolute mastery of professional business etiquette and honorifics (Keigo - 敬語) is mandatory for executive-level client interactions.
    -> Business-level English.

Key Responsibilities (職務内容)

As a BDR, your primary objective is to build a robust pipeline of qualified leads for our Account Executives.

  • Outbound Prospecting & Lead Generation: Proactively identify and engage with target accounts across Japan through strategic cold calling, personalized emailing, and social selling (e.g., LinkedIn, Eight).

  • Inbound Lead Qualification: Promptly respond to, qualify, and follow up on marketing-generated inbound leads, converting interest into actionable sales opportunities.

  • Needs Analysis & Value Pitching: Conduct high-level discovery conversations with IT leaders and business executives to understand their digital transformation challenges and clearly articulate the OutSystems value proposition.

  • Pipeline Building: Successfully schedule qualified discovery meetings (Sales Qualified Opportunities - SQOs) for the Account Executive team.

  • Market Mapping & Research: Research target accounts, identify key decision-makers, and map out organizational structures to inform targeted outreach campaigns.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing to execute localized campaigns and with Account Executives to develop territory-specific account penetration strategies.

  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities, contacts, and lead statuses within Salesforce.

Qualifications (応募資格)

We are looking for a resilient, coachable, and highly communicative professional who is eager to break into or advance within the enterprise SaaS industry.

  • Professional Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in B2B sales, inside sales, lead generation, or a highly communicative customer-facing role. Previous experience in the software/tech industry is a strong plus, but not strictly required.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The ability to craft compelling emails and confidently conduct phone conversations with senior executives.

  • Drive & Resilience: A high-energy, self-starting attitude with the resilience to handle rejection and the determination to consistently meet and exceed activity and pipeline targets.

  • Tech Savviness: A genuine interest in technology and the ability to quickly grasp technical concepts. Familiarity with sales tools like Salesforce, Outreach, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator is advantageous.

Skills Required

  • 0-2 years Software/SaaS Business Development or related market/business experience
  • Understanding of the IT industry with a background of prospecting to IT decision makers
  • Outstanding communicator via phone and email to both technical and non-technical audiences
