Overview:

Reporting to the Eastern Engineering Solutions Manager, the Business Development Representative will play a crucial role in driving growth and promoting our innovative product solutions. This position is heavily focused on engineering coverage, with an emphasis on candidates who have experience and established relationships within the Vancouver construction and engineering market.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Development:

  • Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities by building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, particularly engineers and decision-makers.
  • Leverage your knowledge of the Vancouver market to drive adoption of our product solutions, focusing on technical specifications and engineering requirements.

Autonomous Leadership and Team Collaboration:

  • Operate effectively in an autonomous leadership role while contributing to a dynamic, high-performing team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance product awareness, highlighting the breadth of our technical solutions.

Technical Expertise:

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of our product's technical scope, market applications, and services.
  • Utilize strong engineering skills to write and develop design specifications, facilitating effective communication with technical audiences.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and sustain close contact with stakeholders to influence, convert, and uphold engineering standards that align with our product offerings.
  • Conduct small group councils, engaging top-tier owners, engineers, and product executives to support business development initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or BCom.
    • A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or an MBA is a significant asset.
  • Industry Experience:
    • Extensive experience within the construction and engineering fields, particularly in the Vancouver market.
    • Proven track record in sales, including account management, achieving targets, and successfully navigating complex sales at the owner and engineering levels.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Exceptional engineering skills with the ability to develop and present detailed design specifications.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
    • Professional demeanor and a focus on building long-term relationships.
  • Mobility:
    • Willingness to travel as required to engage with clients and stakeholders.
