The Business Development Officer plays a pivotal role in expanding Bramble Network’s sustainable income streams by transforming existing crafts, art, and souvenir products created at our learning centres into market-ready commercial offerings. This role is central to driving revenue growth through strategic product development, sales channel expansion, and the identification of new enterprise opportunities across Bramble’s programmes. The officer will also support in-country fundraising efforts by researching and identifying viable grant, corporate, and institutional funding opportunities, while providing local market insights to strengthen proposal quality. By bridging commercial innovation with social impact, the Business Development Officer ensures Bramble’s long-term financial resilience and programme scalability.
Responsibilities
- Identify, source, and standardize high-quality craft, art, and souvenir products from Bramble’s learning centres for commercial sale.
- Develop pricing strategies, packaging designs, and sales channels (online, retail, wholesale, events) for merchandise and other revenue-generating products.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of buyers, including individual customers, corporate clients, event organizers, and gift purchasers.
- Represent Bramble at local and regional markets, trade fairs, exhibitions, and networking events to promote products and generate sales.
- Scout, evaluate, and propose new income-generating opportunities within existing Bramble programmes and tools.
- Conduct research on local grant, corporate sponsorship, and institutional funding opportunities, and share actionable leads with the Fundraising and Partnerships team.
- Support in-country donor engagement and provide contextual insights to strengthen grant proposals and donor communications.
- Track, analyse, and report on commercial revenue performance and fundraising lead progress on a regular basis.
