The Business Development Officer plays a critical role in expanding the bank’s customer base by strategically targeting and acquiring new business customers. This position requires a proactive approach in identifying potential business opportunities and the ability to deliver tailored banking solutions that meet the diverse needs of prospect and customers. The role requires taking a leadership role in the business community, working closely with local businesses to provide financial products and services that support their growth and success. The position will build and grow the customer base by profiling each customer through regular communication to strengthen and deepen these relationships. Business development will be accomplished through an aggressive sales effort resulting in quality growth of accounts. At all times, superior customer service is expected.

What you will do:

  • Collaborates with Commercial Lending and Treasury Management sales to ensure seamless onboarding of new customers and exceptional service delivery.

  • Conducts market research to identify potential clients and sectors for expansion of customer base. Proactively identifies and retains “at risk” customers.

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with local businesses through networking, community engagement, and strategic partnerships. Participates in branch events/sponsorships and is involved with groups and organizations within the community.

  • Assesses the financial needs of prospective and existing customers and recommends banking solutions that align with their business objectives.

  • Makes use of advertising leads, internal customer lead lists, personal contacts, referrals from the Bank, internal business lines, and branch customer base to identify sales opportunities and provides an outstanding customer experience.

  • Stays informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to effectively position banking services.

  • Maintains a complete understanding of and competency with products, services, and the Bank’s business-customer acquisition strategy.

  • Monitors personal weekly/monthly sales efforts, ensuring sales targets and results are achieved.

  • Travel 50-60%.

Who you are:

  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • 3 years minimum banking, sales, or business development, with a proven track record of acquiring business customers required.

  • Strong understanding of business banking products and services.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence decision-makers.

  • Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to solve complex problems.

  • Highly motivated and target-driven with a proven ability to work independently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay Range: $80,172- $139,730 annually

AIP Bonus up to 7.5%

Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
