An opportunity exists within the Industrial Gases Commercial Team for a Business Development Manager (Industrial Gases) who will be responsible for the proactive and profitable sales of our Industrial Gases, Liquid (CryoEase), Speciality Gases (PI) and Equipment/Engineering solutions within the Leinster Area of Ireland.

The Business Development Manager role requires a good general knowledge of the end user markets in particular life sciences, manufacturing and food.

Business growth is expected to come through direct individual effort but also coaching and supporting our retail outlets in their local acquisition of prospects in their catchment area. Acting and converting leads generated for the region is also a key deliverable in achievement of new business targets.

Duties include:

  • The successful incumbent will need to quickly develop a high level of product knowledge in the Industrial gases and Liquid (CryoEase) ranges and support internal and external account managers as required.
  • Regular travel will be required to successfully grow the business and support the wider team and travel off patch for training and wider group meetings will be needed from time to time.
  • Field-based activities are expected to equate to approx. 75% of the BDM’s time.
  • Achievement of personal revenue, volume and profitability targets for Industrial, CryoEase and PI products for their region through new business acquisition.
  • Conduct detailed planning using CRM tools to maintain prospect pipeline and territory management effectively and convert opportunities provided by territory agents and marketing leads as well as self-generated new business.
  • The role will be targeted by generation on a monthly basis new business and generation from new accounts.

As the Business Development Manager, you already are or have;

  • Demonstrable track record as a BDM and prior experience of selling, using consultative and added customer value techniques.
  • Evidence of strong new/new business achievement versus targets involving direct contact with prospects and excellent pipeline management.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with a desire and proven ability to deliver results.
  • Relevant experience, for example internal or external sales or account management, may also be suitable and advantageous.
  • Excellent team skills and capability of successfully developing win/win situations with peers.
  • Energetic individual, willing to travel frequently within the allocated area to enhance effective use of time.
  • Use of IT to enhance communication, business analysis and growth opportunities, which include but not limited to: Microsoft Office, CRM tool, SAP, AI and P&L’s.
