Job DescriptionWe are seeking a commercially driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to lead growth across WA, with a primary focus on Inspection Services and broader opportunities across the SGS Industries portfolio.
This role will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening customer partnerships and driving sustainable revenue growth across key sectors including Mining, Energy, Utilities, Infrastructure, Defence and Industrial markets.
You will play a key role in building SGS’s market presence across WA by developing sales plans, managing an active pipeline, supporting tenders and proposals, and working closely with operational teams to transition opportunities through to successful delivery.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development and sales growth across Inspection Services and the broader SGS Industries portfolio.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers across mining, energy, utilities, infrastructure, defence and industrial sectors.
- Identify, qualify and progress new market opportunities, including cross-selling complementary SGS service lines.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurate opportunity records in the SGS CRM system.
- Support tenders, proposals, pricing submissions and commercial negotiations.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging industry developments to support growth planning.
- Collaborate with Business Managers and operational teams to ensure opportunities are successfully transitioned from sales through to delivery.
- Represent SGS through client visits, market engagement activities, industry events and promotional campaigns
To succeed in this role, you will ideally demonstrate:
- Demonstrated business development and sales experience within technical, industrial, inspection or related service environments, with strong understanding of WA industry sectors including Mining, Energy, Utilities, Infrastructure, Defence and Industrial markets.
- Proven ability to build customer relationships, support tenders and convert opportunities into revenue, with commercial awareness in pricing, proposals and contract discussions.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and pipeline management capabilities.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly across Western Australia and interstate as required.
