We’re growing our team of Artisans with a Business Development Manager to support our wholly 

owned subsidiary, BioChem Systems. This role is responsible for driving national growth of BioChem’s 

cleaning and solvent replacement solutions, focusing on industrial and commercial customers across the 

region, excluding direct refinery operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close new industrial customers across a defined national territory, allocating approximately 60% of efforts to new customer acquisition and 40% to expanding existing named accounts.
  • Develop and execute structured national account plans to drive consistent growth and territory coverage.
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts through strong relationship management, problem solving, and upselling opportunities.
  • Lead on-site product demonstrations and performance trials to convert prospects into customers and showcase solution effectiveness.
  • Replace incumbent chemical programs by clearly articulating and demonstrating measurable value through real-world results.
  • Manage a short, transactional sales cycle, typically ranging from a few days to several weeks, ensuring timely follow-up and progression of opportunities.
  • Maintain a disciplined, high-activity approach to prospecting, follow-up, and pipeline management to consistently advance sales opportunities.
  • Execute within an established sales process and effectively utilize CRM tools to track activity and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with BioChem leadership and RTI technical support teams, including engineering and chemistry resources, to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Consistently perform in a results-driven environment where success and earnings are directly aligned with individual performance.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years of industrial service, industrial cleaning, field-based industrial sales, or related industrial experience
  • Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales targets in an industrial environment
  • Proven record of generating new business growth, not solely maintaining existing accounts
  • Experience working in or selling into industrial environments such as manufacturing facilities, heavy industry, rail, plant operations, or commercial service settings
  • Comfortable operating in field environments and engaging directly with plant-level decision makers
  • Ability to prospect independently and maintain consistent outbound activity
  • Experience conducting in-person sales meetings, site visits, product demonstrations, or field evaluations
  • Ability to navigate incumbent supplier relationships and close short-cycle opportunities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle objections and advance opportunities
  • High level of integrity, urgency, and personal accountability
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of industrial experience and training
  • Background specifically in industrial service or industrial cleaning
  • Experience working within a defined sales process and CRM
  • TWIC Card

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Work is executed both in an office setting and in the field. Work in the field will require entry to various industrial facilities and may require carrying equipment and materials (up to 40 pounds), climbing stairs and ladders, and working in inclement weather.
  • PPE is required in many field settings and may include FR clothing, hearing / eye protection, work boots, hard hats, and gas monitors. BioChem will provide all needed PPE and safety training required for field work.
  • Office / administrative work can be performed at the Support Center, in the field, or at home. BioChem will provide all needed equipment and supplies (including laptop, monitors, office supplies, etc).

Travel Requirements

  • This position is estimated to require approximately 6–8 overnight trips per month (80+ annually). Most travel will support business development activities, customer meetings, product demonstrations, and plant trials. Some travel will be required for training and team collaboration.
  • Travel volume will vary based on territory demands, customer activity, and business priorities.
