Job Title: Business Development Manager  

Location: UK Field Based

About the role:

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll drive new business across Central England & East Anglia, selling BSI Knowledge Solutions and Membership subscriptions. This is a home-based role focused on identifying white-space opportunities, building a strong new business pipeline, and converting prospects into long-term customers.

You’ll be suited to this role if you come from a specific industry sector and have experience operating as a regional or territory-based sales professional, managing your own patch and targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business revenue across your territory

  • Identify, research, and develop new sales opportunities

  • Build and manage a strong, high-quality new business pipeline

  • Prospect effectively through self-generated outbound activity

  • Present BSI Knowledge Solutions to senior decision-makers

  • Accurately forecast weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales

  • Follow up and execute targeted sales campaigns

  • Maintain accurate CRM records in Salesforce (SFDC)

  • Produce regular sales and forecasting reports

  • Consistently meet and exceed sales activity and revenue targets

To Be Successful in the Role, You Will Have:

  • Experience selling within a defined industry sector

  • Background as a regional or territory-based account manager or BDM

  • Proven success in new business / hunter-led sales

  • Experience selling into technical, regulated, or complex environments (e.g. built environment, medical devices, machinery)

  • Strong prospecting and pipeline management skills

  • A track record of closing self-generated opportunities

  • Confidence presenting and negotiating at management level

  • Excellent organisation, time management, and prioritisation skills

  • A proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven mindset

  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills

  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)

  • Solid Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • Full UK driving licence and fluent English

  • Educated to Degree level preferred
