About the Opportunity

Our client is a nationally recognized business coaching and consulting firm dedicated to helping construction business owners build stronger companies through proven systems, leadership development, and operational excellence.

As they continue to grow, they are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to become the driving force behind new client acquisition and strategic relationship development.

This is not a high-volume cold calling or transactional sales position. Instead, you'll build meaningful partnerships, cultivate referral relationships, manage warm opportunities, represent the company at industry events, and ensure every opportunity receives exceptional follow-up.

If you're energized by building relationships, creating opportunities, and helping businesses grow, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact while working directly alongside an accomplished founder.

What You'll Do

As the Business Development Manager, you'll own the company's business development pipeline from initial relationship through signed client.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with referral partners, industry associations, business owners, and professional organizations.
  • Develop new business opportunities through networking, partnerships, referrals, and industry events.
  • Manage and nurture warm leads through consistent, proactive follow-up.
  • Own and maintain the CRM, ensuring every lead, opportunity, and next step is accurately documented.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, Build Expos, speaking engagements, and networking events.
  • Coordinate event preparation, lead capture, and post-event follow-up campaigns.
  • Collaborate with marketing to execute lead generation initiatives and promotional campaigns.
  • Track pipeline performance, conversion metrics, and weekly business development activity.
  • Support company-wide client retention initiatives alongside the coaching team.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities that expand the company's reach and generate long-term growth.
What Success Looks Like

Successful candidates will:

  • Build strong referral and strategic partner relationships.
  • Consistently generate qualified new business opportunities.
  • Ensure no opportunity falls through the cracks because of missed follow-up.
  • Keep CRM data organized, accurate, and actionable.
  • Become a trusted extension of the founder's business development efforts.
  • Contribute to both company growth and long-term client success.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is naturally persistent, relationship-focused, highly organized, and comfortable creating opportunities through authentic relationship building.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of business development, account management, partnership development, client success, or relationship management experience.
  • Demonstrated success generating new business through networking, referrals, and strategic relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow-through.
  • Experience working within a CRM platform.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 4-6 nights per month.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within consulting, professional services, construction, or the AEC industry.
  • Experience coordinating conferences, networking events, or speaking engagements.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar.
  • Public speaking or presentation experience.
A Unique Opportunity to Learn the Business

To remain closely connected to the client experience, you'll also work with a small portfolio of approximately 3–5 coaching clients. This hands-on experience allows you to better understand the company's proven business systems while building credibility with prospective clients.

Previous coaching experience is not required. Comprehensive training and support will be provided.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $70,000 base salary
  • Performance-based incentive plan with first-year earning potential exceeding $100,000
  • Additional incentives tied to self-generated business, strategic partnerships, and company growth
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Disability insurance
  • Company-paid travel expenses
  • Ongoing professional development and leadership coaching
Why Join This Team?

You'll work directly with an experienced founder who has built a highly respected coaching organization with proven systems already in place. Rather than building processes from scratch, you'll step into a well-established business where your focus can be on what you do best—building relationships, creating opportunities, and driving growth.

If you're someone who thrives on connecting people, opening doors, following through relentlessly, and making a measurable impact, we'd love to hear from you.
