The Problems You’ll Solve
- Knowledge of Venture Capital/Private Equity funds and the broader industry
- Relevant network of contacts within the Venture Capital/Private Equity community
- Prior experience supporting back office functions at a venture capital or private equity fund
- Create and lead a process to screen all sponsorship requests with venture capital partners, private equity partners, industry partners, and other ecosystem leaders
- Support FA BD hosted events and sponsorships by coordinating cross-functionally with Sales, working with finance teams and payment platforms such as Zip, aligning with marketing and setting up registration pages, creating and uploading campaigns into Salesforce, and managing a follow-up process
- Prepare analysis of team performance metrics, including familiarity with and use of databases including Salesforce, Airtable, Looker, and Google Sheets
- Quarterback FA BD work using various marketing platforms, including Stensul and Marketo
- Project manage team tasks, including for example:
- Managing the team quarterly newsletter process by working cross-functionally with Product, Product Marketing, Marketing, Sales Enablement, and other teams;
- Updating internal team trackers
- Update and maintain team and company CRMs, including Salesforce, Airtable, and Google Sheets
- Coordinate and work alongside our sales team to activate mutual books of business with law firms
- Lead discovery on additional paths for Carta to add value to our partners to drive new business to Carta
- Develop and maintain relationships with partners in the private markets ecosystem
- Create awareness of Carta’s fund and investor tools for venture capital and private equity funds
- Represent Carta in the field, meeting with current and prospective partners and attending industry events on Carta’s behalf (up to 25% travel)
The Team You’ll Work With
The Business Development Associate/Manager, Team Support will support the Fund Admin business development team in representing Carta in-market and advancing the company’s efforts to grow its network, deepen existing relationships, and develop additional business opportunities with ecosystem partners. Partners include law firms, banks, audit providers, industry associations, among others.
This role will be primarily responsible for creating scalable and efficient processes around the team’s various go-to-market initiatives. This will include supporting event planning such as managing intake forms, undertaking outreach, navigating multiple software technologies, and working across multiple teams. The role will also have the opportunity to explore new partner channels for possible referral opportunities.
The Business Development team works cross-functionally to drive ecosystem partnerships to accelerate our growing business. Ideal candidates will be energized by building and managing impactful external relationships, driving cross-functional collaboration, digging into data, finding scalable and repeatable best practices, constructing strategic communications, helping to change practices, and creating more owners across a rapidly evolving industry.

Qualifications
- Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and networking skills, with experience leading meetings with cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of SaaS business models
- Relevant Business Development/Partnerships or other industry experience
Nice-to-Have
- Experience managing relationships with high-profile ecosystem partners.
- Understanding of fund formation, regulations that apply to funds, fund administration, audits, or valuation services.
Salary
Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission) range for this role is:
- $115,000 in San Francisco, CA
- $115,000 in New York, NY
- $110,400 in Seattle, WA
Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
