Job Summary
The Business Development Manager - Single Phase UPS primary focus is to drive new business with identified OEM and enterprise customers and increase business engagement with Channel partners. You will be tasked with driving revenue growth focusing on specific market verticals that drive the highest revenue potential, as well as building upon existing Channel relationships. You will work closely with Sales and Product Management to identify opportunities, win competitive engagements and help shape the product development roadmap based on what you hear in the field.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise & OEM Growth Strategy
- Develop and execute a growth strategy for Vertiv’s 1ph UPS business focused on targeted market segments for enterprise and OEM customers, with clear revenue objectives and execution milestones.
- Identify customer-specific opportunities for 1ph UPS to drive incremental business and build customer loyalty to the Vertiv brand long-term.
- Investigate and assess system integration opportunities with other products within the IT Systems group including Racks, Power Distribution, KVM/Serial Consoles and Services.
Channel Sales Growth Strategy
- Work with the existing Channel Sales teams to analyze partner engagement and sales performance, identifying which resellers may be underperforming and working with Sales on performance improvements plans to address.
- Identify activity plans to drive growth in select market verticals (e.g. Federal, Medical, etc.)
- Provide market intelligence and customer insights to Product Management and Engineering to support tactical marketing and new product development initiatives.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning
- Maintain understanding of the enterprise and OEM landscape, including competitive offerings.
- Analyze wins, losses, trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to continuously refine Vertiv’s sales strategy in selected market verticals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in business development or sales within an enterprise. The preferred candidate has direct experience with UPS and integrated IT systems.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and closing deals with enterprise and/or OEM customers.
- Quantitative data analysis skills to help drive new sales strategies, identify new markets, and enhance decision-making
- Executive-level communication skills, with confidence engaging technical stakeholders and senior customer leadership.
