Business Development Manager, Mastercard Services (Consulting Experience)
Services business is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing cutting-edge services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include strategy consulting, data analytics, loyalty and marketing programs, and risk management services.
We are now looking for a Manager, Business Development to expand our footprint in Portugal, build long-term partnerships with flagship clients within financial services, and play a key role in shaping and executing our strategy for non-traditional segments (retail & commerce and digital partners). You will act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, introducing innovative solutions that address their most pressing challenges and positioning Mastercard as a partner of choice.
This is also a unique opportunity to establish and grow new customer segments in Portugal. You will have the chance to lead the rollout, shape our go-to-market approach, and directly contribute to the expansion of the business.
About the Role:
• Contribute to the strategy and rollout of non-traditional segments in Portugal • Be the ambassador of our offering, proactively identifying and engaging new logo opportunities, driving the agenda, and leading conversations with senior client executives around innovative sales opportunities • Take joy in developing and maintaining a broad network of flagship customers across digital partners, retail, e-commerce, telco, etc. • Create customized and well-structured proposals for clients leveraging the global network of Mastercard Services products and expertise • Partner with local project teams to ensure post-sale project implementation quality and identify potential follow-up sales opportunities • Play a key role in creating awareness of Mastercard Services offering by organizing events and building thought leadership
All About You:
• Undergraduate degree required. MBA or relevant post graduate degree is an advantage • Extensive experience in strategy consulting, ideally with a strong cross-industry track record • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in Portuguese and English, both verbally and in writing • Entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, self-starter and strong commercial sense • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and oral with the ability to run discussions independently with C-level executives • High level of energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, and commitment • Ability to multi-task independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
