The Role
Business Development Manager

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Commercial team sits at the centre of Deliveroo’s marketplace—shaping how we serve restaurants, grocers, and new verticals worldwide. From negotiating key partnerships to unlocking new revenue streams and crafting data-led growth strategies, we take on big challenges that move the business forward. If you thrive in fast-paced, commercial environments and want to influence the future of a global brand—this is the team for you.

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join our La Spezia team. In this role, you’ll help us build new relationships with the region's most premium restaurants and stores, acting as a founding member of our regional growth efforts in Liguria.

Get to know our Commercial team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Regional Sales team, reporting to the Sales Lead. You will be a critical driver of our expansion in Italy, focusing on high-end partnerships and providing a world-class onboarding experience for new merchants in La Spezia.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Strategic Prospecting: Map, prospect, pitch, and close new restaurants across La Spezia, acting as an area expert who knows the local food scene and upcoming trends inside out.

  • Consultative Selling: Communicate with restaurant owners through physical visits, calls, and social media to demonstrate the value of Deliveroo’s technology and help them overcome any barriers to joining.

  • Onboarding Support: Guide partners through the joining process, ensuring they have the best possible experience as they transition onto the platform.

  • Relationship Building: Attend restaurant and food meet-ups to stay connected with the local culinary community and identify new opportunities.

  • Negotiation & Closing: Manage commercial discussions from end-to-end, finding creative solutions to bring premium partners into the Deliveroo ecosystem.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others:

  • Sales Experience: Proven experience in targeting new business with a "hunter" mindset and a drive to close deals.

  • Negotiation Skills: A natural ability to navigate commercial discussions and structure successful, long-term partnerships.

  • Stakeholder Management: Confidence dealing with premium partners face-to-face, over the phone, and via digital channels.

  • Tenacity: A resilient and motivated approach to working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of the restaurant industry is a significant plus.
