SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Merit Medical offers an integrated product portfolio that supports interventional cardiology procedures, providing outstanding performance and reliable quality at every step. Merit Medical has recently completed the acquisition of Cook Medical's lead management portfolio. With this addition, we are poised to strengthen our fast-growing electrophysiology and CRM business. This acquisition will not only bolster our position in the global cardiac intervention market but also enable us to provide even better solutions to our patients and healthcare partners.
Leads are insulated wires that are implanted in the vasculature to deliver electrical pulses from a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator to the heart. Millions of patients around the world have these leads. Occasionally leads become infected or malfunction and it’s necessary to remove them. Extraction of leads requires specifically designed removal devices.
The position holder is primarily responsible for professionally selling the entire range of the future Cardiac Therapy (Lead Management/ Cardiac Interventions) product portfolio in their own region, as well as in other areas, to hospitals and related healthcare professionals in electrophysiology, cardiology, rythmology and cardiac surgery. The quality and consistency of product and service delivery must be monitored and managed as necessary. Strong ethical business relationships with customers are needed to ensure the use of our products and to gain a larger market share through evidence-based selling.

Specific Responsibilities:

Customer Management

  • Achieve agreed targets, focused on revenue growth.
  • Present and sell Cardiac Therapy products and services to services to potential and existing customers in the region.
  • Support and advise clinicians on the correct use of Merit´s Cardiac Therapy products.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts in line with company guidelines.
  • Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up.
  • Develop and implement special sales activities to accelerate adoption.
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns.

Business Development

  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the contacts to be made.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activities.
  • Prepare documents to activate and maintain contracted services.
  • Working in the hospital environment converting the medical target groups to use Merit technology.
  • Broad organizational view of sales and customer care, with sufficient knowledge of competitors and their products.

Support & Training

  • Preparation of various status reports, including activities, closures, follow-ups, and goal compliance.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Full adoption and use of the company's CRM to manage the opportunity pipeline.
  • Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
  • Educating and training Merit Distribution Partners (where applicable) Clinicians and Hospital Staff, as well as providing verbal technical support and organizing regular in-service training, and assisting in National/International training requirements

  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets, implementing the sales plan, and growing existing business while managing customer relationships at all levels in your region.
  • Developing excellent product knowledge and awareness of environmental changes in the respective product area.
  • Effectively manage customer accounts.
  • Enlarge the customer base in the assigned area.
  • Completing all administrative tasks as required by the supervisor.
  • Participating in scheduled meetings and calls.
  • Participating and supporting at congresses, workshops, and required marketing functions.
  • Jobholder will comply with Merit Medical’s values on health, safety and business conduct and will adhere to all company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Proven ability in sales and general business growth.
  • Natural ability to recognize business opportunities and persuade and influence others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to build good working relationships with a variety of customers.
  • Advanced presentation and negotiation skills. Professional appearance and positive company representation to the public.
  • Experience in territory planning and forecasting is essential.
  • Used to working independently with a high level of time management skills.
  • Good IT skills, including all Microsoft packages and proficiency in using modern multimedia tools.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Resident in or near the region.
  • Degree in nursing and/or business consulting professions combined with experience in healthcare sales. Ideally with proven success in selling lead management or electrophysiology products.
  • Sales-oriented, business-oriented, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Competitive individual who enjoys winning in challenging environments, achieving results, and building important customer relationships.
  • Charismatic and enthusiastic individual with endless motivation to promote and develop the business field.
  • A good listener to colleagues of different levels with an ability to understand and to execute plans
