eShepherd is changing what's possible in cattle and grazing management through virtual fencing technology that gives producers greater flexibility over their animals, land and time.
Now we're looking for a proven Business Development Manager to help turn that technology into commercial growth across Canada.
You'll open new opportunities, build credibility with cattle producers and take ownership of developing your market. This is a role for someone who enjoys creating business, not waiting for it to come to them.
With the backing of an established global agricultural business, you'll have the autonomy to build relationships, influence how we go to market and make a visible impact on eShepherd's growth in Canada.
The opportunityThis is a true new-business development role.
You'll build and convert a strong pipeline of cattle producers, owning opportunities from the first conversation through to negotiation and close.
Success in agriculture is built on more than a sales pitch. You'll spend time with producers, understand how they manage cattle, grazing, labour and land, and demonstrate where eShepherd can deliver meaningful value to their operation.
You'll also be our eyes and ears in the market. What you learn from producers will help shape our commercial approach as eShepherd continues to grow across Canada.
What you'll doBuild and convert a high-quality pipeline of cattle producers
Prospect proactively and create new business opportunities
Develop trusted relationships across Canada's cattle and agricultural industries
Understand producers' operations, challenges and commercial priorities
Demonstrate eShepherd and translate the technology into a compelling business case
Own opportunities from prospecting through proposal, negotiation and close
Maintain strong CRM, pipeline and forecasting discipline
Partner with Customer Success to support successful onboarding and adoption
Represent eShepherd at agricultural events and industry forums
Bring customer and market insights back into Product, Marketing and commercial teams
First and foremost, you know how to develop business.
You're commercially driven, comfortable starting with a blank territory, and understand that credibility and relationships matter when selling into agriculture.
Ideally, you'll bring:
Proven success in business development, solution sales or territory sales
A track record of winning new customers and growing revenue
Knowledge of beef cattle, livestock production, grazing management, AgTech or agriculture
Experience developing a territory, customer base or new market
Strong commercial judgement and confidence navigating complex sales opportunities
Excellent prospecting, relationship-building and negotiation skills
Strong CRM, pipeline management and forecasting discipline
The drive and self-direction to work autonomously across a large territory
Ability to travel approximately 50%, including overnight travel
Experience in AgTech, animal health, livestock technology, animal nutrition, agricultural equipment or precision agriculture would be highly valuable.
Why eShepherd? You'll be introducing genuinely innovative technology to Canadian cattle producers and helping establish a market with significant opportunity.
You'll have the autonomy of a growing AgTech business, the backing of an established global agricultural company, and the opportunity to see the direct commercial impact of what you build.
If you're energised by opening markets, earning the trust of producers and turning opportunity into growth, come help us build what's next for eShepherd in Canada.
