Job Description

The Business Development Manager – Data Centers drives strategic growth and market reach across the Data Center segment within Australia and New Zealand. You will lead the identification, qualification, and pursuit of complex opportunities and acts as someone for priority pursuits.

You will develop market strategies. You will lead pursuit teams and engage senior partners across data centre developers, operators, EPCs, and partners. This will position Rockwell Automation for long-term success in this high-growth market.

We are looking for strong commercial acumen, the ability to influence at an executive level, and the capability to lead diverse teams to provide aligned, significant outcomes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop a regional Data Centre market strategy in consideration of Rockwell Automation growth priorities

  • Identify, qualify, and build a pipeline of large-scale data centre opportunities (hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise)

  • Lead pursuit strategy for priority opportunities, including win themes, deal positioning, and competitive differentiation

  • Engage early with customers, consultants, and EPCs to influence project specifications and standards

  • Be a commercial lead across pursuits, aligning sales, solutions, delivery, and partner teams around a single strategy

  • Promote disciplined governance across opportunity qualification, bid/no-bid decisions, and risk management

  • Lead pricing strategy and commercial positioning to balance co

  • mpetitiveness with margin goals

  • Develop relationships with partners including data centre developers, operators, EPCs, and strategic partners

  • Collaborate across Rockwell Automation teams to integrated solutions spanning power, process, and digital offerings

  • Provide market insights on data centre trends, investment cycles, and competitive positioning to inform business strategy

  • Ensure handover of won opportunities to execution teams with clear scope, expectations, and success criteria

  • Capture and share lessons learned to improve pursuit effectiveness and market approach

  • Contribute to capability development across the broader sales organisation in the Data Centre market

  • Ensure adherence to Rockwell Automation policies, procedures, and standards including Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Information Protection, and applicable regulatory requirements

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related discipline

  • 5+ years of experience with business development, large project pursuits, or strategic sales within infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical environments

  • Ability to travel across Australia and New Zealand

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in the Data Center industry, including knowledge of developers, operators, EPCs, and important technologies

  • Experience leading complex, multi-partner pursuits with high commercial value

  • Experience with automation, power, and digital solutions within mission-critical environments

  • 5+ years of experience influencing senior partners and building executive-level relationships

  • 5+ years experience in deal structuring, pricing strategy, and risk management
