Element has an opportunity for a Business Development Manager within our labortatory based in Amsterdam.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving business development activities across the Coatings Value Stream, with a focus on expanding Element’s capabilities and market share in coating testing, inspection, and certification services. The position requires a strong combination of commercial drive and technical understanding, enabling the identification, development, and conversion of opportunities across laboratory testing, inspection, and qualification programs.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for promoting and growing services including:
- Industrial coating laboratory testing
- Artificial ageing testing
- ISO 12944-9 testing
- NORSOK M-501 qualification testing
- ISO 19277 testing
- ETAG / EAD qualification programs
- Salt spray testing
- UV exposure testing
- Climate chamber testing
- Coating inspection services
- QA/QC coating programs
- NACE / AMPP inspection services
- FROSIO inspection services
- Third-party verification
- Certification services
- Integrated laboratory testing programs
- Own, manage and grow a portfolio of accounts
- Proactively prospecting via phone and email
- Connect with potential customers, re-engage dormant & declining accounts
- Disciplined pipeline management
- Close deals confidently and at pace
- Join weekly S&OP meetings
- Represent Element at industry and open house events
- Confidently connect with key decision makers
- Present and close tailored solutions
- Build, maintain and deliver account plans for most valuable assigned customers
- Support commercial plans as needed
- Participate in commercial reviews
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Typically, around 5 years’ business development, B2B sales, or account management experience
- Strong oral communication skills, with confidence in leading customer conversations and presenting solutions
