As the lead for growing the Maritime Services sector in Australia and New Zealand, you will have the opportunity to help develop the largest maritime services Defence Prime, significantly enhancing its market position. This is a dynamic time for Defence, Government, and Commercial operators, as they undergo major scaling activities and integrate new technologies, such as autonomous capabilities and offshore power generators.
Based in Woolloomooloo, you will play a key role in fostering a service-oriented culture and establishing a robust commercial framework, leveraging digital, automation, artificial intelligence, and autonomous technologies to drive business success in this evolving sector.
In this role you will be responsible for driving growth, business development and sales of Thales maritime products and services in Australia within new and existing markets.
You will understand the customers missions, operational environment and priorities, broaden the customers understanding of Thales solutions in connection with the customers mission to promote the Thales products and services to address the customers objectives.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading and securing capture opportunities through prospecting, qualifying, managing and closing sales opportunities in new and existing accounts
Acquire and share market intelligence and understand competitor trends and changed market conditions
Identifying and development potential strategic alliances and partnerships for the Thales portfolio
Managing reporting of sales opportunities and governance process
Working within a highly matrixed organisation to contribute to sales strategy and planning to meet future market needs
Stewardship of reference-able clients, facilitating reference contacts, tracking of references used
Support the business in its market presence as a thought leader through all available forums and institutes
Support the development of the communications and marketing plans as required to support the business strategic goals.

Proven experience in a senior sales or business development role within the maritime industry
Understanding of large-scale programs and deals
In-depth understanding of maritime market dynamics, including key players, trends, and challenges
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and guide teams in large Matrix-style organisations
