About the Role
As a Business Development Representative (BDR) Intern, you will be the first point of contact for prospective clients and play a key role in helping companies discover how Nova Benefits can improve employee healthcare and wellness. You will work closely with experienced sales professionals, learn modern B2B SaaS and consultative selling techniques, and gain exposure to conversations with HR leaders, Finance teams, and business decision-makers across some of India's fastest-growing companies.
- Reach out to prospective clients through calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other outbound channels.
- Qualify leads by understanding their business needs and employee benefits requirements.
- Schedule qualified meetings and product demonstrations for the Business Development team.
- Clearly communicate Nova Benefits' value proposition to prospective customers.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and update lead information regularly.
- Follow up consistently with prospects throughout the sales cycle.
- Conduct market and competitor research to identify new business opportunities.
- Gather customer feedback and share actionable insights with the Product and Sales teams.
- Meet daily outreach targets and contribute to pipeline generation.
- Work towards achieving outreach, meeting, and pipeline generation goals.
- Final-year students or recent graduates from any discipline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Self-driven, disciplined, and eager to learn.
- High ownership and a willingness to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Comfortable engaging with HR, Finance, and business leaders over calls and virtual meetings.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic understanding of sales, business development, or customer-facing roles is an added advantage.
- Persistence and resilience.
- Curiosity to understand customer problems and business challenges.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to handle objections confidently.
- Previous internship or project experience in Sales, Business Development, Customer Success, or Marketing.
- Exposure to HR Tech, SaaS, Insurance, Employee Benefits, or B2B sales is an added advantage.
- Experience interacting with HR teams, CHROs, Finance teams, founders, or senior business leaders is a plus.
