Role Overview

Building on the foundations of proven success, we believe there is significant opportunity to scale our success through this sales channel, and the role holder is fundamental to this.

The Business Development Executive role involves working with your manager to listen to the needs of your prospects, identifying opportunities and arranging remote and at times face-to-face sales meetings for your field sales colleagues to maximise revenue generation through sales of IMSM products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying any opportunities where IMSM could add real and meaningful value to the prospect business.

  • Booking appointments for the Field Sales Team so they can close new business opportunities. You will earn commission directly on your appointments that close.

  • Provide feedback to the Campaign Managers covering market insights and competitor behaviour.

  • Contact senior-level decision makers within organisations by ways of telephone calling and executing marketing plans.

  • Take sole responsibility for achieving target of quality appointments booked for the field sales team, ensuring intelligent diary management.

  • Exceed sales revenue targets, opportunity generation targets and KPI’s as directed by the Head of Sales Development.

  • Comply with all IMSM reporting, admin and sales processes and procedures.

  • Achieve daily, weekly and monthly targets set out by the business.

  • Generate leads for other commercial departments within IMSM.

Ideal candidate specifications: skills and experience

  • Ability to be a quick thinker, motivational and energetic.

  • Ability to lead discussions, influence and persuade through excellent communication.

  • Ability to absorb product features, turning these into sales benefits whilst on the phone.

  • IT literacy covering Salesforce and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Experience of working in sales or telesales with a proven successful track record of running territory or sector, with specific experience of ‘getting past the gate keeper’.

  • A wealth of B2B experience with senior decision makers, via outbound sales Initiative.

Apart from technical skills, you will need:

  • Passion and enthusiasm for engaging with people.

  • Good time management skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively.

  • Confidence to be a self-starter and an analytical thinker but with an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to combine the demands of hitting personal targets whilst working collaboratively within a team environment.

Skills Required

  • Experience working in sales or telesales with a proven successful track record of running a territory or sector
  • Wealth of B2B experience engaging senior decision makers via outbound sales initiatives
  • IT literacy covering Salesforce and Microsoft Office suite
  • Proven ability to contact and get past gatekeepers to reach senior-level decision makers
  • Strong communication, influencing, persuasion and phone-selling skills
  • Ability to absorb product features and translate them into sales benefits during calls
  • Proven ability to book quality appointments and manage diaries to achieve targets
  • Good time management, multitasking, attention to detail and self-starter attitude
