Location & Travel:

This position requires a local presence in Idaho, and has flexibility to work hybrid within an Idaho location. #LI-Hybrid

Travel and attendance at off site events is required, during and outside of standard working hours

To be considered for this opportunity, you have:

Experience: Five (5) years of business development, sales, account management or related experience, within health insurance industry. Experience in Blue Cross Blue Shield plan environment preferred.

Successful candidates bring a strong track record of health plan sales, a proactive and resilient mindset, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles with precision.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree; or equivalent work experience (Two years’ relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)

License: Active or eligible insurance license (health, life, and/or disability) or must obtain within 120 days of hire

What You’ll Do

You’ll play a key role in advancing our growth strategy by:

  • Developing and implementing sales plans to achieve sales objectives for assigned product lines and/or market segments. Responsible for new sales of group products and services.

  • Developing and delivering sales proposals and presentations.

  • Enrolling new members through prospecting, contacting, negotiating, and selling concepts, rates, and the organization’s unique value proposition to individuals, brokers, consultants, and/or groups.

  • Retaining, building, and strengthening relationships to generate future sales growth and maintain existing business with brokers, groups, individuals, and community partnerships.

  • Ensuring active participation in community and industry organizations.

  • Identifying opportunities to grow membership by evaluating reports of existing book of business including historical trends, prospects, and specific products.

  • Ensuring sales tools are maintained with documentation of activities, call notes, prospect information, futures tasks, and other required information to support the overall sales plan.

  • Providing market feedback and information for sales forecasting.

  • Monitoring competitor activities and practices through accurate group and customer feedback and advising leadership.

  • Reviewing and verifying data on business opportunities and market trends.

  • Assessing broker, customer, and/or client needs and suggests appropriate products and/or solutions.

  • May assist account management with renewals; other duties as assigned.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current base pay range is $106,762 to $160,144. The position is eligible to participate in a sales incentive pay program, which is variable based on an individual’s performance. The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, travel requirements, internal equity, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
