About the Role

We are looking for a Business Development Executive to support our sales and client engagement activities while taking ownership of key administrative and coordination processes.

This role combines client relationship management, business development support, government grant coordination, training enrolment, and event/exhibition management. While sales is an important part of the role, a significant portion of the position involves ensuring that clients are well-supported throughout the grant application, claims, and training enrolment processes.

Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Business Development
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, and other business development activities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with new and existing clients, particularly SMEs.
  • Understand clients' business and training needs and recommend suitable courses, services, and digital solutions.
  • Conduct client meetings, sales presentations, and product/service briefings when required.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and relevant sales documentation.
  • Follow up with prospects and existing clients and support the sales team in progressing opportunities.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and support the closing of sales opportunities.
  • Achieve assigned sales and business development targets.
Government Grant & Client Administration
  • Advise clients on relevant government grants, funding schemes, and eligibility requirements.
  • Guide clients through the grant application and claims process, ensuring that required information and supporting documents are complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams to collect and verify documentation required for grant submissions and claims.
  • Follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure applications, claims, and supporting documents are submitted within the required timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant applications, claims, and client documentation.
  • Keep updated on changes to government grant policies, eligibility criteria, funding schemes, and related requirements.
  • Provide clients with timely updates on the status of their applications and claims.
Training Enrolment & Coordination
  • Manage and coordinate training course enrolments from registration through completion.
  • Assist clients with course registration, documentation, and administrative requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth processing of enrolments and training arrangements.
  • Follow up with clients on outstanding documents, payments, confirmations, and other enrolment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date enrolment and client records.
Events & Marketing Support
  • Coordinate and support trade shows, exhibitions, roadshows, and other business events.
  • Assist with event preparation, registration, logistics, materials, and post-event follow-up.
  • Support marketing activities and campaigns where required.
  • Follow up with leads generated through exhibitions, events, and other marketing activities.
Reporting & Administration
  • Maintain accurate client records, sales activities, opportunities, and follow-ups in the CRM system.
  • Keep the sales pipeline and client information updated.
  • Prepare weekly sales, pipeline, enrolment, and activity reports.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of client and business activities.
  • Perform other administrative and coordination duties related to sales and client operations as required.


Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 2–3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, client servicing, sales administration, or a related role.
  • Experience in account management, client coordination, or sales support is preferred.
  • Experience working with SMEs is an advantage.
  • Prior experience handling government grants, funding applications, or claims is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple client requests, documentation, and deadlines effectively.
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and coordinating with different internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, customer-focused, and able to work independently.
  • Willing to attend client meetings, exhibitions, and other business events when required.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment.


Skills Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline
  • Minimum 2-3 years of B2B sales experience
  • Experience in business development and account management
  • Experience selling to SMEs
  • Prior experience with government grants
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and close deals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
